November 27, Thursday is the day that we enjoy a day off and have Thanksgiving Dinner with friends and family. I remember one parents would close the restaurant for the day and head to the cabin to start making food for all of us. My mom would get up at 5 am and start baking pies at least 5 of them, Apple, Mince Meat, Pumpkin, Coconut Cream (MY best pie), Cherry. Than would be time for the turkey, Ham, Chicken legs, for the stove. Time to peel the potatoes for Mash Potatoes, Pennsylvania Dutch Potatoes filling, Oyster Filling and Sweet Potatoes.
