With the freezing temps this week, we ask that you perform the following, especially if your home is on the older side.
1. Slightly open faucets, especially those near exterior walls, to allow a constant flow of water which prevents freezing inside the pipes.
2. Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warmer air to circulate around pipes.
3. Ensure your thermostat is set to a comfortable temperature and that your heating system is functioning properly.
4. Assemble an emergency kit with items like flashlights, batteries, food, water, first aid supplies, and a battery-powered radio. Stock up on warm clothes like hats, gloves, scarves, and extra layers and have extra blankets readily available.
